NY State Vaccine Sites Guide
Your guide to official NY state-run vaccine hubs (NYC and suburbs!)
Common Questions
So the most common questions I’m asked are “Where do I start?” OR “How do I find a vaccine appointment?” OR I’m told “There are SO many websites, it’s too confusing!”
Who qualifies for the vaccine?
Get familiar with NY state eligibility for the vaccine - just updated to ages 60+! If you’re under 60, check out the varied list of qualifying occupations and health conditions (comorbidities & underlying conditions).
Where do I start?
Book your vaccine appointment at the “Am I Eligible?” NY state site - your zip code determines what sites will be available to you.
This includes state-run NYC hubs in the city including Javits Center (Manhattan) plus suburban vaccine sites in Westchester and Long Island.
Let’s get more specific….What and where are the NYC sites?
Manhattan - Javits Center (Manhattan)
Queens - Aqueduct Racetrack - Racing Hall (South Ozone Park, NY) and **York College - Health and Physical Education Complex** (Jamaica, NY)
Brooklyn - **Medgar Evers College - Brooklyn**
But what about the boogie-down Bronx and Yankee Stadium? It’s a NYC-run site! City sites have very different booking processes…more on those in an upcoming post.
Pro-tip: ** notes sites that are *Zip code/resident restricted*
What and where are the suburban sites close to NYC?
Westchester
Westchester County Center (White Plains, NY)
**New York National Guard Armory** (Yonkers, NY)
Long Island
Jones Beach - Field 3 (Wantagh, NY)
SUNY Stony Brook (Stony Brook, NY)
What’s the deal with 24/7 sites & AM vs. PM appointments?
Some state-run mega hubs such as Javits Center (Manhattan) show specific times on the “Am I Eligible?” website. Several hubs are now running 24/7 and some offer different vaccines based on your time slot.
Javits offers the Pfizer vaccine from 8 am – 7 pm (day shift) OR Johnson and Johnson (J&J) from 9 pm – 6 am (overnight shift).
